Radiology and Imaging Technology is the health profession concerned with the direct administration of radiation, primarily x-rays, in disease diagnosis and injury assessment and treatment. Radiology and Imaging Technologist (MRIT) is healthcare professional that employ a range of different imaging techniques and sophisticated equipment to produce high quality images during any injury or disease. They take the images using range of techniques including: X-rays, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), DEXA, Angiography etc.
At Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology, GGI, a student for Radiology and Imaging Technology program is provided with inclusive duration of 3 years. In clinical rotations, the student experiences hands-on learning in each discipline of the imaging and, under supervision, performs diagnostic testing in the department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging. Students undergo rotatory training in various techniques of whole body X-rays including
interventional procedures including Barium studies, Intravenous procedures, HSG, RGU and MCU etc., and also various scanning procedures of CT and MRI.
Starting from 1st Year (Three Years Degree Program)
10+2 with Medical Stream with at least 50% aggregate and 55% Marks combined in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (45% in case reserved category) from any recognized board of school education OR Diploma in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology with minimum aggregate of 50% marks. |
