Research Development Committee (RDC)
The Research Committee is an apex body of the institute which is headed by its Chairperson and shall be responsible for any kind of research and development activities. The main functions of this committee are as follows:
Objectives
- Explore the provision of Consultancies
- Explore the provision of research and development opportunities for academic staff to maintain enthusiasm, awareness of current trends and relevance in teaching and other college activities.
- The development of infrastructure conducive to promoting the quality and quantity of research and development.
- The establishment of research and development priorities, and Monitoring in conjunction with the Project Validation Committee (PVC), the quality and quantity research and projects of departments.
- The research committee undertakes regular internal and external reviews, and provides advice or makes recommendations to the Director.
- Disbursement of research/project funds to established researchers and students working on projects, both individually and in groups.
- Monitor the application of research funds to ensure that the funds are properly and formally accounted for.
- Promote promising new & emerging areas of research.
- Promote and encourage the faculty and students for applying for funding for research projects to funding agencies UGC, DST, DRDO and ICSSR.
- Development of mechanisms conducive to the best possible ways of engaging and motivating research staff
- Ensure appropriate mechanism for approval of the terms , associated costs and staffing arrangements of research and development grants and contracts to be conducted.
- Monitor the research and development performance of individual groups, departments to encourage excellence and productivity through maintaining a database of research and development activities.
- Review of GGI centers of excellence on a regular basis.
- Oversee the application of code of Academic and Research Ethics for the responsible practice of research.
