The establishment of the Department of Communication Skills and Personality Development has been done in order to provide an overall development in way of expressing through words of mouth and most importantly non-verbally as well.

Effective and bold Communication Skills have become need of the hour for every highly qualified and competent aspiring individual to share piece of information with individuals or groups of people purposefully. As majority of individuals lack in expressing their views in front of others due to many obvious reasons, the department is making efforts on its end with an objective to make them confident and able to come out from their misconceptions of having fear while speaking by providing training and guidelines through several programmes and activities.

The Department of Communication Skills and Personality Development is taking well care of all the possible problems initially faced by the new learners and eventually makes those learners effective in Communication Skills. Adding to this, it is also indulging students to build their personality as well. This department is building the Interpersonal Skills, Soft Skills of the students who are from different social and cultural backgrounds and moulding them into Professionals in presenting themselves in the highly professionalized era.

Personality is the sum total of ways in which an individual reacts and interacts with others. It is the sum total of individual's Psychological traits, characteristics, motives, habits, attitudes, beliefs and outlooks. With a view to transform the living of an individual towards development , Special lectures are being delivered on regular basis with the help of Audio-Visual Aids to the students which helps them to understand and analyze their personalities at the outset; required changes after then and eventually grooming personalities. Personality Development domain includes the patterns of eating, sitting, walking, behaving, color preferences, dressing sense and a lot which enhances the overall personality of an individual from his/her outer appearance to inner thoughts, attitude……

Presently the concerned department is intensively and actively into enhancing the Communication Skills of all the individuals who are from different geographical areas and cultures. Making them enable to interact with others by running Voice and Accent Classes and focusing on their Listening, Reading, and Writing Skills there has been a dramatic incline in the way of presenting clearly accompanied by boost up confidence. Besides this, they are well aware of the characteristics they are possessing.

Since beginning by now this department has scaled new heights and has taken away its name carving a niche. The struggle for turning individuals into highly competent professionals has resulted some of the marvelous achievements which has justified that Communication Skills are not innate, they can also be acquired. This has been possible through the Tailor designed modules on Personality Development, Soft Skills, Moral; Value based education and Corporate Ethics.

The department achieved its first success during the Summer Training Session 2011. Students of various branches and semesters had willfully participated in the Presentation Session and effectively presented themselves on latest technical, non-technical and social issues and subject matters. Their confidence and aspiration to present them in the public has given them a direction and they followed the same path and finally getting towards success. It has been observed that the fear from them has been isolated and got far away from them and they looked as if they were there only to win. The observed scenario acted as a role model for others as well and especially for them who believe that getting out of the fear is only a theoretical task.

The Department of Communication Skills and Personality Development for the very second time up roared in ANUBHAV 2011's literary event named "PRATIBHA PRATISPARDHA" related with different activities like Presentations, Declamation, Cross-swords and Just-a-minute where again the freshers and seniors participated collectively and had taken the level to some other world.. It was really a fabulous task performed by the students on controversial and interesting subject matters said by the viewers. This competition was an Intra College Competition where the spirits of every participant was at the zenith while competing and presenting. Crafting success of the students by this department has empowered minds with their potentials.

With the proper help and timely guidance from this department the students have gained determination and confidence to face each task as a challenge. They have become able to take world at their fist. By attending several worthwhile workshops on Communication Skills and Personality Development, they begun their journey to compete with the outer world. Beginning from IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and Thapar University till Rayat & Bahra students participated at their Inter College Competitions and hold the first position, reveals how bold and effective they just become within a short time span. This department has balanced their inner strengths with outer appearance to make them win every time everywhere and students deem such achievements as a foundation of their career achievement.
